We had such a great morning yesterday at Etowah Chamber’s first ever Education Summit! Very excited to see the common denominator - we're all in this together. It was clear that all schools, regardless of size, were focused on providing the best possible environment where all students can learn. Thank you to ALL of our speakers. And thank you to our presenting sponsor, Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC), our breakfast sponsor, Barry Alan Cherry with the Challenger Learning Center of Northeast Alabama committee! • ETOWAH COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT Superintendent, Dr. Alan Cosby• ATTALLA CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT Asst. Last week I represented Etowah Chamber and attended a course at on economic and community development deal structuring and financing as part of their GEDI/Economic Development Association of Alabama Leadership Institute. The two speakers were some of the best in the industry! And I was happy to run into others from the Etowah County area as well as a couple of others from the chamber of commerce world! Thank you to everyone who helped organize the class and to our presenters!

🍗 🍹 Last night was great fun being a judge at the Smoke On The Falls Ole Smoky Drunk Chicken contest at in Gadsden, Alabama! The entries looked and tasted great. Excellent creativity with this year’s South of the Border theme! Janet Tarrance does an outstanding job with this KCBS event every year, including adding even more fun things for participants to compete in like this chicken contest! Going on today was the Kids-Q competition, the Cheeseburger in Paradise contest and the main KCBS competition. Everyone who submitted an entry is a winner in my book. Thank you to Janet for letting me help last night!#SmokeOnTheFalls#SouthOfTheBorder#DrunkChicken
