  • The Big 12 and the University of Texaswill sharehosting duties at Houston Oaks Country Club for the 2024 Big 12 Women's Golf Championship, April 18-20.
  • The event will serve as the 27th edition ofthe Big 12 Women's Golf Championship; Texas Tech's best finish is second place (2021) at the conference event, the Red Raiders also own three third-place finishes in that time (1999, 2015, 2017).
  • Texas Tech senior Gala Dumez returns for her final Big 12 Championship as the Red Raiders' only individual to have won an individual title for Texas Tech in the Big 12 era. In addition to her 2021 Championship as a sophom*ore, she also finished in a tie for sixth in 2023. She is the only current Red Raider to own a top 10 entering the 2024 tournament.
  • Since 2013, theBig 12 Women's Golf Championship has featured nine teams. With the league welcoming four new teams last summer in BYU, Cincinnati, Houston andUCF, the 2024 edition features 13 teams - the most teams the championship has ever since the inaugural edition in 1997.
  • Of the 13teamscompeting this week, two are ranked inside the SCOREBOARD Top 25, while eight are in the Top 50, and three morerank just outside the Top 50 between 50-60 – includingNo. 56 Texas Tech –settingupa competitive tournament waiting to be played over three days in Houston.
  • The Red Raiders' lineup features two freshmen (Ambroziak and Hurtova), and will also be the first appearance for Kylee Loewe. Gala Dumez shot a 1-over-par 217 and placed in a tie for sixth last year while Lauren Zaretsky carded a 9-over-par (78-68-79) and placed in a tie for 27th in her freshman season appearance.
  • Lauren Zaretsky enters the event with the Red Raiders' top stroke play average at 71.3and owns the team lead for Top 20 finishes with five this season.
  • Zaretsky also enters the Big 12 Championship ranked as a Top 100 player bySCOREBOARD, checking in at No. 94.
  • The Houston Oaks Championship Golf Course was designed by Chet Williams. Its' Celebration Bermuda Grass fairways yield virtually no "flat lies." As for the greens, their size and contouring are unique, usingTifEagle Bermuda Grass, a proven durable grass that can accommodate a variety of higher speeds. The course was ranked as high as No. 2in the state of Texas by the Dallas Morning News.
  • Texas Tech is seeking its seventh straight NCAA appearance as the NCAA Selection Show is sharply on the horizon, April 24 at 1 p.m. aired live on the Golf Channel.
